I watched you from afar, saw you wink on the grass,
kicking, giggling with elation galore.
I watched you from behind, saw you stumble and fall, pulled you up by your soft trusting tender palm.
Now I watch you from the front as you hold my hand, take my heart,
keep it safe, keep it warm, keep it all.
